Suzuki Manipulative's

Manipulative's will help children develop fine motor skills necessary to play the violin. Some examples of these are:

Stringing beads which will help tiny fingers become more accurate with their fine motor skills.

Lacing cards will help in the same way as stringing beads strengthening the pointer finger and making it more accurate.

Broken Crayons will have the same affect by helping the child grasp the shorter crayon in a similar way to the finger position on the bow.

You can make all of these items from simple items you probably already have in your home. They also sell many good sets of these items at educational stores.

*As always the most important part of any Suzuki program is the music. Exposing a young child to such a thorough repertoire will prepare them for any rigorous music program.
