Teaching Methods Concluded

Math: Charlotte advocated for an understanding math concepts. The use of manipulative's is encouraged as well as word problems. She emphasized the importance of understanding how math applies to real life.

Poetry: Poetry was a very important part of Charlotte Mason's schools. Poetry was given as a window into great ideas or living ideas. It is allowed to stand on its own and be evaluated by the student themselves. Student's in Charlotte Mason's schools studied Shakespeare consistently.

Bible: Charlotte Mason believed children should be read the bible everyday and large portions memorized and recited each year.
