Shakespeare Learning Summary

Shakespeare is a formidable challenge for even the most academic individuals. That being said, you don't have to be an English Major to tackle Shakespeare's works. There are lots of resources that will make Shakespeare more accessible for adults and children. Read original text that has commentary. After some review try reading one of the plays retold by the Lambs. These stories are for younger children as an introduction.

BBC taped all the plays and they can be found at your local library. After you and your child have a good grasp of the theme and plot of a play introduce a passage or two from the original text. Be animated and get your little ones involved. You will instill an appreciation for great Literature and take the fear out of reading and understanding the writings of William Shakespeare.

If you can't wait to get started, Google has indexed a copy of Shakespeare's folio from 1632. In addition, they have an online model of Globe Theatre and much more.
